What types of inspections do you offer?
We offer a range of building inspections, including pre-purchase and pre-sale inspections, moisture checks, Healthy Homes compliance assessments, commercial dilapidation reports, and invasive consultancy for complex properties.
What does a standard inspection include?
A standard inspection covers the property's interior, exterior, roofing, subfloor, and accessible spaces. We check for structural integrity, moisture issues, safety risks, and general compliance with NZ regulations (NZS 4306:2005).
How long does an inspection take?
Most residential inspections take between 1 to 2 hours. Larger or more complex properties may take longer — we’ll let you know in advance.
When will I receive my report?
You’ll receive a clear, detailed report within 24 hours of the inspection. If it's urgent, let us know — we’ll do our best to prioritise.
Can I attend the inspection?
Yes! You’re welcome to be there during the inspection. It’s a great opportunity to ask questions and get real-time insights into the property’s condition.
Do you inspect for moisture and leaks?
Absolutely. We use specialised tools to detect hidden moisture issues and can provide targeted moisture inspections or Healthy Homes assessments if needed.
Are you certified?
Yes — ABIS is operated by a Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP) and Building Surveyor, ensuring every inspection meets high industry standards.
Do you work weekends or after hours?
We try to be as flexible as possible — weekend or evening inspections can usually be arranged by request.
